“Just take a breath dude.” Jackson told himself as he walked towards Oceania.
Months passed since his last time in the shop. If it weren't for his feelings being all sorts of mixed up with the death of his father, maybe there would have been a real chance for him and Emerson. It had been the best for him to leave her alone, but he should have said something. It was shit that he ghosted her. He knew that. He didn't want to give her the, 'it's me not you' cliche ran although it rang true. Since the moment he had met Emerson, he had know she was too good for him.
He stopped breathing the moment he opened the door. He had no idea what to expect from her either. All he had known of her was to be nice, but Jackson himself wouldn't be nice if he was her. Would she freak out on him? Kick him out? He didn't know. Fuck. What was he doing?
He inhaled sharply as the door shut behind him. Yeah, he was going to give her the cliche spill if she'd let him. It was genuine and he wanted to lead more with that. He walked up slowly towards the counter, "I'm in need a good book today. Any recommendations? You get more points if it's in French." He asked as he slightly tipped forward as he had shifted his weight out of nerves.
