Anysti sat with her head on her knees, watching her mother sleep. It pained her deep in her spirit to see her mother's hands so wounded, when it was her only tool left to "see". She was exhausted herself, as she tried to pull on her own blood magic, but she was unsure how to use it to heal. Her instruction never went that far...
A soft exhale, then she stood up and stretched. The wound above her eye still gave her slight fits, but it was healing rapidly. She supposed that was the gift of the Blood Magic to herself. It would leave a nasty scar and she was unsure if she would be able to see out of her left eye again. Only time would tell.
She needed out; she needed the sea. Duty bound her here, though, and willingly. Reaching out with a light touch, her fingers grazed her mother's brow. "I'll be back, Mum. Just going ta get some air." Her mother did not stir in her healing sleep, which was just as well.
Passing the table on her way out the door, she stopped and picked up the message she found on the wooden surface. Her brow furrowed as she looked around, unsure who had left it there. Tearing it open, she read through the contents quickly, then a second time much more slowly.
Tears flooded her eyes and spilled down her cheeks before she turned and slumped her back against the table. She was relieved that Jainus' fate was safe with his crew and it took a heavy burden off of her heart. The thought of losing the last remaining members of her family tore her apart with grief, and this... this message filled her with a strength she did not know she had. Her fist came into the air and she said, "See? You can't keep us down!"
Now to find out Danzo's fate...
