Today is Peace Officers Memorial Day. Pictured here is the name James B. O'Leary, inscribed at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington D.C. "Uncle Jim" was a City of Boston police officer who was gunned down in the line of duty by two men who had just robbed a liquor store. Our Co-Founder, Brendan, was given the middle name James in his honor. Brendan's father, William O'Leary, served on the Vermont State Police for nearly 30 years and was once awarded Vermont's Lifesaver of the Year for his work reducing traffic fatalities in the state. While today in particular is a special day honoring the nation's wounded and fallen officers, we celebrate the contributions of first responders, active and retired military, and teachers every single day by offering each of them a 15% discount on most purchases made at the brewery. Of course, our front line responders in doctors, nurses, and other essential personnel are also front of mind at the moment. We'll have a special announcement coming very soon to honor those individuals as well. We're incredibly thankful for the people who sacrifice to make this country safe and who educate our youth.
