Once Jim felt satisfied that he could take the reins, the Professor disappeared mysteriously and the original returned, though the return of the usual English professor would prove to do little for the boys who were so clearly suffering at the hands of the other.
Alvar's living quarters still will seem to have a mind of its own when it comes to electricity, and will always find Alvar when he is alone, which also will be torment for the severely introverted student. Having people around him all the time bothers him as much as the vast darkness and the unknowns that lurked in it.

After his third nervous breakdown in a week, he will be sent to a British mental institution, to have nothing ever become of him. Oopsies. He occasionally will be heard muttering things over and over about time. His family will abandon after one visit with tuts and shaking heads.
