What are mornings like for Janaya? Who's more romantic?

Mornings are busy. They definitely share quarters (tent, bedroom?) whatever it is. Janai gets up with the Sun. It's just the way her body is attuned. She will hold Amaya until she wakes up. Amaya is terrified of waking up, no matter where she is. You can't hear rustles, voices and everything is too big and your eyes don't work quite right, and Amaya's eyes are everything to her. The rare occasion Amaya gets up before Janai she'll leave a sill note for Janai which Janai will laugh upon reading. Than they go off to their seperate duties.

Janai is the most romantic though. Every detail of the proposal was planned painstakingly over the course of MONTHS. She knows Amaya is a bloodhound when it comes to finding out secrets and nothing can surprise her so Janai really wanted to try. She is the only person to successfully surprise Amaya. Janai plans all the dates, meetings, etc. because she loves her fiancee very much and wants to spend every second with her. EVERY SECOND. Only two people knew about the proposal, (except for the dancers which I don't count,) which is Gren and Kazi. I imagine Kazi had a hard time with this but succeded in keeping their mouth shut.

Whoo this was a long one. Fun though. Send me more questions I'm DYING of boredom.

Ya'll I had no idea that Kyoshi had a wife. I have now been sucked not only into Holtzbert, Janaya, and Spintossa, and now I have Rangshi to make fanart of.

Nickname HC?

(Jeez not even a please ok ok ok... im going im going) :(

Janai does not have nicknames. Janai has titles. (The Royal Family Scoffs at You For Suggesting Such A Thing) Most people refer to her as Golden Knight, and after she is crowned, she will be called Your Radiance or Queen Janai.

Janai has never had nicknames, not even as a child. Those closest to her simply called her Janai or by familial relationship (sister, daughter), but she was always a little envious of people who had comfortable enough relationships to have nicknames. 

She has been thinking about nicknames for Amaya, which Amaya does not know yet. Her inclination is to relate it to light, something like “Sunbeam” “Ray” or even “Sunny”. She’s a little too uncertain to suggest any of these yet, but maybe she’ll get there.

In contrast, Amaya has had a lot of nicknames. Sarai used to drop the first syllable of her name a lot, so it was just “Maya”, and that turned into “May-May” (my-my)

That’s also what Callum called her when he was little. “Aunt May-May”, and he occasionally still uses it. Ezran sometimes calls her that too. It makes her laugh, especially when Gren spells it out. 

Most of her nicknames though have been in the form of name signs. 

She and Sarai developed a few, but Sarai’s favorite one was the sign for brave (fingers start as claws facing the shoulders and come out into fists), but instead of it ending in fists, they make the letter A. 

Gren sometimes uses this with their friends, but in formal conversations, he usually fingerspells her name or calls her by her rank.

With the addition of Season Four we see Amay has developed a name sign for Janai, a "J" over her heart (which made me start sobbing when I saw it)

So I said earlier I would go into the "bath" thing more. Well this picture by I draw things on Tumblr sums it up.

Amaya:

Amaya prefers to wash up quickly most days. She’s busy and has things she wants to get done. 

She uses whatever soap she happens to have on hand.

She does try to keep her hair from drying out, but since she wears her helmet most of the time, she doesn’t spend too much effort styling it. (She likes her short hair and will not be growing it out tyvm.)

Janai

When she’s at the palace, she has her own private bathing room.

Janai occasionally enjoys a nice long soak in hot water. 

She likes bath oils and spends time making sure her skin stays nice and moisturized. (No ashiness for this Golden Knight, thank you very much). 

She prefers rich, spicy scents in her water and soap.

Janai usually keeps her hair wrapped to protect it while she’s bathing (and sleeping)

Together:

Whenever they can, they much prefer to bathe together (I think Lux Aurea has some nice almost Roman-style baths)

Since the Sunforge isn’t heating the water right now, Janai heats the water for Amaya so it’s nice and warm.

Janai prefers the water really really hot, but she tries not to go as hot because she’s noticed that Amaya’s skin starts to turn pink.

Amaya could spend all day washing Janai’s back and arms, and cleaning Janai up in the bath is something she really puts her whole heart into. It can be a little overwhelming for Janai, but she finds it incredibly sweet.

Janai enjoys washing Amaya’s hair, and she loves how much Amaya relaxes into it. She takes her time with it, making sure it’s clean and moisturized and combed. Amaya’s hair is looking even better than normal.

Janai has started trying different soap scents to see if Amaya connects with any of them or if any of them smell particularly good on Amaya’s skin.

The problem with bathing together is that they both get entirely too distracted, and they end up there for HOURS.

So if you've been following my content you know that I have an opinion on Amaya being Deaf not Deaf-Mute and that she tends to choose to be mute instead. I feel like she knows some words like, Amaya, fire, go, retreat, hello, and swear words of course. :)

I feel like Janai heard Amaya's voice after long trust exercises. Amaya was bullied during school for trying to speak because if you've ever heard a deaf person speak, it doesn't sound quite right. Many times people have opted out of relationships with her because she sounds so strange.

This led to Amaya having MASSIVE trust issues and she was afraid to reveal her voice to Janai.

I believe the first thing Amaya said to Janai was "I love you Janai," I feel she had Kazi and Gren help her. After all she needed to pay Janai back for Janai successfully surprising her. Amaya's voice is definitely like Sarai's but a little bit deeper.

Noticed you did a "first kiss" Head canon but it was an excerpt from a fanfiction..... what do YOU think it was and what happened after.

Their first kiss was a kiss goodbye.

Amaya had to leave to go raise her nephews and Janai had to sort out a LOT. Although many of us are sure Amaya never took over as Queen Regent of Katolis while Ezran experienced childhood, she definitely had to be there for them.

Callum's life was a mess and Ezran was just a kid.

Little did Amaya know when she met secretly with Janai the day before she left and experienced their first kiss they were seen.

BY NONE OTHER THAN BAIT

Bait the snitch told Ezran and in a (private) meeting after a couple months Ezran told Amaya that Lux Aurea needed her more.

Much to Opeli's dismay Amaya left at once with Commander Gren.

(Can we all just take a moment to appreciate Opeli?)

Both Amaya and Janai danced around their feelings for months before a fellow Lux Aurean councillor mistook them for a couple.

And with that a new line of thought was sparked.
