First off HUGE thank you to @michaelbjordan for making sure Black journalists felt seen and heard every step of the way of the @creedmovie rollout — from the very first trailer press conference which was hosted by the incredible @kelleylcarter to the in-person 🙏🏽 junket interview opportunity to the premiere events. As a Black journalist I LOVE sharing these stories with my audience. As an empath and an artist I FEEL the passion and the pressure that the talent are faced with. I LOVE what I do and I think hard about what to ask. Having only four minutes with these two was PRESSURE but I thought the Creed III plot perfectly paralleled so many of the convos that were being had about these two stars as Black men - so I tried to ask a question that would offer an opportunity for them to address the very real boxes we as Black people keep putting each other in. My other favorite part about Creed was watching MBJ as a father onscreen, which also mirrored the way Jonathan Majors continues to speak about his daughter and his fatherhood experience while he’s been on these press tours. Let’s go out and support #CreedIII this weekend. Let’s continue to uplift our brothers.
