Synopsis: An encounter with an intriguing spacial phenomenon finds Chakotay hearing the cries of a familiar child only he can hear (Janeway/Chakotay).

Notes: Set towards the end of season 3. Originally part of the Prixin Prompt back in May, but real life got annoyingly in the way.

PROMPT: One of Janeway/Chakotay begins to have hallucinations that are progressively getting worse. The Doctor seems sure there is no cure so they recuse themselves from duty.

Ok so I haven’t checked the tag for a while but why are my fellow shippers getting annoyed at other JC shippers for believing JC is canon or not canon?

Like literally who cares? If you believe it with what we’ve been given, then enjoy it. Don’t get hung up on opinions that don’t vibe with your view or criticise people for seeing differently.

If you don’t think it’s canon then no shade if you’re expecting more, just don’t killjoy someone else’s fun.

It’s not that hard.

I’m personally in the “I like to believe it’s getting there, but I’ll take whatever interpretation gives me good fic”.

It’s been almost 30yrs for some of us and I know it’s frustrating, but hey at least they didn’t revive C7? 🥳

The thing I love about the Prodigy storyline with Janeway and Chakotay is that it parallels the storyline in Caretaker.

It’s her mission to find him, and they are always looking for each other.

In Timeless it was Chakotay going back in time to save her and in Endgame it was Janeway doing the same thing to save him.

Whatever universe or time period it is, they were made to find each other.

SJ’s Retro Rewind: You see everything (Star Trek Voyager, Janeway/Chakotay) Created circa 2004

Pros: accurate as fuck lyrics to footage, you will want to hug Kathryn Janeway a little harder - why is she just EVERYTHING? Cons: VHS and some low quality clips, and the font in the credits reminds me of the terminator. Pro or Con?: early 2000s me really digged the white transition feature on windows movie maker.

A little sample of a piece of writing I’ll be working on over the holidays:

“You wanted me to think good thoughts. You said that if I couldn’t think of any you’d bring a flower to me everyday until I could tell you one.”

“If you were any other woman I would have begun to think you just loved receiving pretty things.”

Kathryn smiled, and turned over the jacket in her hands.

“You were persistent.”

“You were suffering.”

Kathryn put the jacket down and walked towards Chakotay’s balcony. He followed her, but gave her the space to explore his apartment on her own. She settled her eyes outside and opened the glass door, a gentle breeze touched her face.

“How many flowers did you think it would take?” she asked, still looking outside.

Chakotay watched Kathryn watching San Francisco. He scratched the back of his head and exhaled. “As many as you needed,” he replied.

She turned towards him and he was taken back to a time two years ago, on another planet, on another balcony.

“All those thoughts I had, all those regrets - what if I never thought of anything good?”

“But you did,” he replied.

“What if Chakotay?”

“Then I’d have built a garden.”

My good friend @jenndoesnotcare has been having a Voyager marathon lately, and we ended up discussing all the potential for Janeway and Chakotay during Resolutions. So now she's curious about Resolutions based J/C stories (one of my personal favourite genres, along with the not often enough explored 'Future's End' themed fics).
