Haven't posted my animation for a while. It was a dynamic shot for my classes at the Animation school

There's only one thing on my mind

Omg I was wondering how do you make animations with your sewing? I turn my drawings into applique and had wondered about if animations were possible but never seen anyone do it and it looks SO cool! So you sew down the details of the design that don’t move but not the artwork itself and take pictures of each frame? Am I kind of getting it? I think it looks so beautiful! How do you stop fraying around the edges while working with the pieces? Do you just work really fast? I also don’t know much about felt in general. Thank you if you know and I wish you a lovely day and I got SO excited and pumped looking at that animation like THAT is what I wanna learn!

Yes, my process went exactly as you described. Ideally, you should use a specialized program for stop-motion that allows you to see previous frames, but I didn't have it. That's why sometimes I forgot to move parts XD And when editing I had to align each frame, because my (poorly secured) phone camera shifted with every shot :'D I use felt sheets and they generally don't fray. Sometimes I sew an overlock stitch for exta security.

I used PVA glew on the edges once, but it became a little less pleasant to the touch as a result. It's also important to note that felt will fall apart if you cut it too thin. That's why I made most of the facial features digitally and cut the pointer out of paper.

I also realized that I've never shown the relative size of this project (the blue background is A4)

I actually did shoot in just 2-3 hours, but mainly bacause I had set the scene up on the floor and had to keep getting up and down, which wore me out pretty quickly. Not to mention that my main source of light was the setting sun!

To wrap up, I can say that I wasn't super prepared, and at times the process was quite grueling as a result, but I mostly enjoyed myself and did like I felt it)

Alphys walk cycle! It was a task from second grade in Animation School. Below are gifs of the process

Next clean-up and color for 8 keys, then for 8 inbetweens, after that interface animation and editing, and finaly sound editing.
