Allegory of the cave: I'm assuming you know the layout of the cave. Basically the people chained up in the cave are us, regular people, being fed information (the shadows) that we blindly accept because we cannot see the people making the shadows with the real objects (the people could be seen as the media, politicians, etc. and the real objects would just be what is actually true). (cont.)
(cont.) The person who gets out of the cave would be a philosopher who, when seeing the sun (truth) goes back into the cave out of duty to tell the other people chained up about what reality really is like. The people think he's crazy and don't believe him and try to kill him. If it helps, The Matrix is actually based off the allegory of the cave. If I can make this any clearer, just ask.
