"To make the sheets, I beat paper fiber into pulp and add pigment to the slop. I throw about 5 lbs of pulp onto the mold so that it can drain. Then from underneath the mesh, I vacuum the remaining water out. Over and over again. I make the craters by slipping globs of pulp at the sheet when it's moist.
