im thinking of re-writing maelgwyn's canon a little.
maybe jasmeen, after moving to lion's arch, adopted children but could never settle down with a man after maelgwyn, much like gwyn couldn't fall in love with anyone else for (various reasons) a few decades after jasmeen. maybe her eldest daughter heard all the stories she told about maelgwyn, her tone of voice, saw in her eyes that her mother never stopped loving him. maybe when she was an older teen she snuck off to elona for a weeks, lying about wanting to study somewhere outside of lion's arch for two weeks to get her mother to agree, only to head for amnoon and look for the dad she'd never met but felt like was family anyway. baiting him to come to lion's arch- its SO easy for her to pull on maelgwyn's heartstrings once she's convinced him she's telling the truth. something like that. I do love "maelgwyn impulsively adopts an olmakhan charr cub" but i never felt like that "fit enough" for his lore. we'll see if this lasts i have to work on the characters around Maelgwyn anyway they deserve to be more fleshed out.
the next question is how tf do i get him involved with the pact if hes not in elona when trahearne & the pact are. (my first consideration was that his eldest daughter drags him in, the dad instinct wont let her fuck off into war and bloodshed without SOMEONE to keep her safe properly.)
