This June, an extremist group will travel back in time with one goal: to assassinate Jesus Christ before he is crucified. The story will play out in the sci-fi adventure drama Black Easter debuting on Amazon Prime on Thursday, June 24th, 2021. Written and directed by Jim Carroll.

Starring Jason Castro as Jesus Christ, the film centers on a group of young geniuses responsible for creating a time travel machine only to find that extremists, led by the financer of the machine, are attempting to use it for religious assassination. But their interference in the evil plot causes mankind to enter an apocalypse leaving the fate of the world in the hands of a genius with no faith and a man who has lost his. The film also stars Gerardo Davila and Johnny Rey Diaz.

I just wanna say that while gerrit cole is kind of stunning when he's on the mound and I'm sitting in section 110 or 105, up close in person he's utterly unremarkable??? it was like a really weird experience for me to hold down the shutter button on my phone for 200+ photos as my friend got her jersey signed and be like 'wait THIS is gerrit cole? are we sure? did someone check his license?' usually it's like the other way around, that up close they're sparklier or whatever (I'm thinking of being knocked off my feet by jason castro's eyes in my local whataburger).
