Only two semesters left and Bougie told me to start working more. When I moved here, he brought me into his company that Koa runs. And Koa has been teaching me how to make eco-parts. He has a huge project that started with one building for Walker's company. But while he was there, he was given the contract to build a new eco-friendly condo building for affordable rental units. It's a chance for me to take a position as a construction technician and move my way up. I wanted to get a degree, any degree, to make Jesse happy and then go back home and do my own thing in tech. But now? Never been to Ciudad Enamorada… it could be nice.

Deep down I wanted Mar to know. Why else would I tell my best friend I cheated when his girl is my girl's best friend? Not surprised Jordan told Serenity. But Serenity was more vex than Maricela and that shocked me. I didn't know Mar turned down an internship in Sulani... how can that be my fault? She said she already knew about Rhi and that she's fine but then we went to the spice festival and she used the bubble machine until she passed out.

Doh know if is bubbles dat make she say "I love you" when we got to the front door. First time she said it. In the summertime, I wouldn't have hesitated to say it back. But I don't know. Is this good for either of us?

Maricela: I thought it was Smiley at the door. But no big deal. Tyler is all talk. He yells and yells and yells until he's tired of hearing his own voice. He's just vex cause I'm really done with him. I got a new phone number and deactivated social bunny a while ago. I didn't tell him when I moved so I'm a little shocked he showed up at my new place. And he was a bit more up in my face than usual but I could handle him on my own. He'll never touch me. He won't get away with it. My brothers won't let him. But why did he have to show up when Smiley was coming over? Things are already rough and that look on Smiley's face... He only loses his smile around me and I don't know why I keep messing this up! No matter what I do, this just keeps getting messed up.

Maricela: He doesn't get it. He's so busy since he's captain of his e-sports team and working on his fabrication skills. And now he's planning to move to Ciudad Enamorada after graduation? Since when? Every time he opens his mouth, it's about some plan I know nothing about… or eco-parts or video games or robots... I know by robots he means Rhi. He doh know she was a little too happy to tell me about a kiss. Like she win or something cause she was always eyeing him down… but whatever. No big deal. He's mine and I can make this work. That was a mistake but this is real and I am not temporary.

I just suddenly had the urge to cut my hair... But running into Desiree was what I needed more than the haircut. I don't know how much she knows about me and her brother-in-law. But I appreciate what she told me.

I love Smiley. I want him so much but I need Sulani. I need to figure out who I am without my brothers taking care of me or chasing boyfriends who don't really know how to take care of me... Smiley has plans and a whole life outside of me and I - *sigh*

I know I need to learn to be okay on my own. But can I do that and still have him? Long distance can work, right?

The only thing that crossed my mind was that she cheated... like I did - worse than I did. Didn't stop to think that she never wanted him there. Jesse figured it out in one second. Whole car ride to her apartment, all he do is boof meh. "De jackass dat used to real bawl she up in public show up? At the house, right? And yuh just leave? Just so? Yuh just leave she alone? Yuh mad? Yuh hadda be ah madman." When we got back, her older brother was there. I didn't make a good first impression at all. Brick and Jesse talked and made plans without asking any questions. Brick is home for a while from the military (Fourth Lieutenant), so he will stay at Mar's place for a bit. They'll deal with Tyler once her other brother, Block, shows up (Lieutenant with the StrangerVille Police). She kept apologizing to me and I feel like crap. For leaving her alone, for not trusting her, for not telling her what happened with Rhi. She'll hate me... And her brothers will kill me.
