i know matt and jay (the real guys) have confirmed NTBTSTM's time travel is a back to the future style deal where their consciousness got put into their alternate selves' bodies, but i really want to explore the world i had originally conceptualized when watching the movie wherein, coincidentally that same day for fate reasons, famous jay and drummer matt had, under cover of night, met up for the first time in 17 years to make out peace, which is why Jay's tour manager was "looking for him everywhere" and why alt!matt is in his house first thing in the day. and then newly-dating alt!mattjay walks into them planning the time travel and goes "hey. What the fuck. Who are you. Why did you kill someone. Weirdos."
