Boxy Girls by Jay@Play
Age: 6+ (Not suitable for children under 3, due to small parts)
Price(UK): £10
Bought from: The Entertainer(TheToyShop.com)
She’s a Boxy Girl in a Boxy world.
Pros:
The packaging on the box is adorable. And I liked the easy to pull pull strip at the top, making it easier to open.
The hair is nicely styled and had very little fallout.
The dolls make up is nicely done and stylized with noticeable blemishes or scratches.
The doll is able to stand with it’s shoes on and unaided.
The shoes and clothes are easy to take off and put back on again.
The clothing is well stitched and the velcro is firmly attached.
The doll is articulate at the: shoulder, hips, wrists, knees, head and ankles.
£10 was a good price for this doll.
Any Cons/Defects?:
Although it has articulation at the knees, it doesn’t have any at the elbows which I feel is a bit disappointing.
The hair, though nicely stylized, is very stiff feeling.
A big pet peeve for me is mystery boxes. It doesn’t matter the cost, I should be able to get the toy that I want and not have to gamble on a dice roll.
Things that personally bothered me:
I don’t like that, at least with my doll, it’s a weird dress but it’s a separate shirt and skirt sewn together.
Their head isn’t square enough for me and looks less charming and more like something that wants to steal my soul.
Overall, I really liked this doll but I feel that the concept needs to be ironed out a bit more. I enjoyed how posable it was and I like the price for the product.
Score: 8/10

Jay@Play to launch interactive Zoonicorn plush toys
Zoonicorn has partnered with Jay@Play for ‘Wish Me Zoonicorns’ collectibles.
The new range of intractable plush toys will feature four touchpoints where children can interact with the toy and a horn that lights up when it is kissed.
In addition, Zoonicorn has added three new music videos to its content roster. These rosters aim to teach pre-school children social-emotional developmental lessons.
