good god this took a long time to render. relearning krita one ill advised project at a time

im gonna try to draw more of the needlemouse/hedgehog family soon but they won't be full renders like this this was just because it was their birthday

my pens died as i was trying to color these (╬▔皿▔)╯

babby silver and a babby jackal! surely nothing bad will happen to these cuties

obvi the baby jackal is based on jackal pup pictures, but silver's pic is based on minks fishing!

i headcanon that silver's future tends to be *kind of* good (much like our own present; there's pockets of good/prosperous places but there are ugly and miserable situations scattered throughout) but silver doesn't grow up in a good place. He's the lone survivor from a catastrophic event that wiped out an entire city/town, but somehow (perhaps through cosmic supervision) this lil babby survived not only the initial extinction event, but managed to fend for and provide for himself!

as for the unnamed, probably unimportant jackal pup... i'm sure he'll grow up to be an incredibly well-adjusted, self-sure and kind individual and nothing will happen to that pretty blue eye of his!

he's mostly (AP/ 4 toed) hedgehog with alien dna and a dash of biolizard (amphibian) so i based him off of cute amphibian pics

A well deserved rest after triplet c-section. going to try to pivot towards animating but my yarn stash is very enticing
