I’m desperate to find a song. It had “way home” in the lyrics and in the title. The artist/vocalist was female. The album it was from had the word “hearts” in it.
I heard it on Jazz Fm at what I’m pretty sure was sometime around the end of July.
Just a tiny snippet of martin talking about upcoming projects on their recent JazzFM interview from earlier this month. Since I guess most people may not have listened to the whole thing.
No real specifics mentioned but he said he was meant to have been finishing filming on something around now if not for lockdown (maybe The Responder for the BBC?), and he’s got a few other things waiting for him to do (which I guess would include Breeders S2 at some point). Can’t wait for this shit to be over.
side note, sorry I haven’t been posting much. Just exhausted with work.

yeah stay off social media martin you’re not missing out on much trust me
EP: I just wanted to say, I just opened the new record collector which has a review of the album, and it does say “Sequels, especially in the movie world, often disappoint, because they take a concept and dilute it on a formula that quickly runs out of gas, but there’s still plenty of creative juice on show in Martin Freeman and Eddie Piller’s follow-up to their acclaimed first iteration of Jazz on the Corner”. That’s why we did a second.
MF: Well that’s nice.
AF: Yeah. Is that the first time you’re hearing that review, Martin?
MF: It is. I would agree, yeah. Very often movies do pale as they go on, except, I would say for The Hobbit franchise. I think they just got better and better!
(lols)
AF: Eddie would agree with you.
EP: JESUS WEPT.
Audio clip and transcript of this part of the interview which made me lol. Big creds to @youngqueenwerewolf for the tips on the chrome vpn extension. Took me a while to work out the rest of the the back end technical stuff as well. Also had to download audacity and figure out audio recording from device, and then fumble my way through clipping and editing. too bad i didn’t know how to work all this stuff last December or I would have recorded Martin’s “Decades” series on bbc radio 6 even if it was a whopping 18 hours of playback.
Have got all the whole episode of this on mp3 now with the news, traffic and ads clipped out. Trying to figure out how to put this on soundcloud/spotify/podcast or something. Drop me a pm if you have suggestions or you want the file for dl :)
