as “WAKA FLOCKA FLAME IN THE HOUSE” was said (yelled) through the night, my friends and i sat by the beach listening to tomppabeats, trying to ignore the obnoxious blender music playing in the background. it was the first time i had seen them since school was out and i had a great time, besides getting hit in the head with a football and having to listen to waka flocka flame make incoherent noises for what seemed like hooouuurrrssss.
since i hadn’t seen my friends in a while, every single joke seemed 10 TIMES funnier because i was just so happy to be around them. do you ever feel pure happiness with people to the point that laughter just bubbles out of you continuously? cuz same. it can get embarassing at times (especially when you keep laughing like a maniac while others have long since stopped) but i simply cannot suppress myself during those moments where i seem to be possessed by a laughter god.
going back to the beach, while ordering the pizza from dominoes, i had to hang up the first time i called because i was dYING of laughter. i probably shouldn’t have done that but what can one do when possessed by the laughter god? not my fault, blame my friends who are insanely funny people. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ also, blame dominoes for not specifying that they do not deliver to the beach. apparently they only go as far as the jack in the box on pacific coast highway and warner (being that we were at bolsa chica beach) but didn’t say that when we ordered; so at the very last minute when the delivery guy WAS ALREADY AT THE JACK IN THE BOX, we had to run for our lives -cuz pizza is life- to get there before he left. i was fuming because 1. i hate running i would kill before i had to run and 2. if they had only told us to be at jack in the box when we had called, we could have been there before the delivery guy arrived… *rolls eyes and sighs deeply* i was absolutely vexed, but all anger was quickly forgotten because the delivery guy was cute. lol that was probably the most not-altruistic sentence ever but everyone has their shortcomings and i, for one, fall short at the sight of externally blessed men (and i'm not alone ツ). but besides the hectic and frenzied experience of having to get our pizza, the pizza was most definitely fulfilling and we were content for the most part. “the sand on the pizza gives it a bit of an extra crunch that makes it extra delicious” said josh, a true intellect and a man of many dumb words.
we took sO many photos because after all, we are living in an era where social media and your media presense are relevant to many aspects of your life. especially as teens, instagram and snapchat, to name a few, are where you want your life to seem as picturesque and as excitement-filled as your posts make it out to be. i can go on all day about this topic and philosophy, but getting back to the beach, here are some of my favorite photos that we took:
chris out here giving the best life advice straight from his t-shirt !!
me and the clouds featuring emily’s absolutely iconic sunglasses
emily and i looking red as tomatoes, basking in the sunset
and here we have emily beck and zach beck, who are not related whatsoever ツ
after a long day of laughing, jamming out to sad songs, taking pictures, and reconnecting with each other, we sat on the warm sand and peacefully watched the beautiful sun set into the horizon. JUST KIDDING. that is not actually what happened, though i wish it was. in reality, the rising of the moon pushed the tide farther up the beach and eventually the water swept over all of our blankets, shoes, bags, everything. our towels became lead, with the water weighing it down, making life a million times harder as we had to migrate inland. not to mention wacka flocka flame was obnoxiously rapping to blender music (the term “music” here can be questioned) to accompany us on our walk of death. we all suffered together, but that’s what makes the bond between friends stronger, and this day wouldn’t have been this fun if it weren’t for them. ♡
