Castiel’s Plan
“Yuck.” Lucifer mumbles, reeling away from Castiel’s memory of him and Dean sitting serenely on the park bench. He’s seen multiple scenes like this, playing back in his brother’s mind and he is starting to understand just why an angel of heaven has given up so much for one human. “You do realize you’re not expandable to this neanderthal don’t you?”
“Yes. I have come to realize.” Castiel answers flatly, not bothering to try and stop the Devil from searching his memories.
“Then why did you say yes to me?”
“The Darkness...” Castiel answers. “You said you can beat her.”
“I can. But you made me believe that you said yes because you felt useless to the Winchesters. The Ken doll is obviously in love with you.”
“Me and Dean share a profound bond.”
“I noticed.”
“If I had said yes so easily you would have been suspicious. I didn’t wish to go through an explanation at the time.” Lucifer frowns in confusion. “Get rid of her. That’s all I want.”
“Not that I’m complaining, but you screwed yourself in this deal little brother. I would have gotten rid of her regardless. Why are you so set on it?”
“She believes that her fate and Dean’s are intertwined.” Castiel mumbles. “She has been seducing him and he seems unable to resist her.” Lucifer laughs.
“You’re jealous?” Castiel narrows his eyes and though he wishes he can argue, he does not. Lucifer is right, he is jealous. “Oh Castiel... You gifted me your body to keep your human boyfriend from cheating on you?”
“I have slayed demons, I have smited angels, I have burned out the eyes of the human woman who dared to touch Dean in an inappropriate manner Lucifer. If you do not think that I would sell my body to the Devil to keep Dean away from the Dark whore you’re mislead.” Castiel hisses, becoming aware that they are now seated in the kitchen of the bunker. The digital clock on the counter reads 3:30 am, which means Sam and Dean should be asleep now. Still he takes in the darkened room and is careful that he doesn’t hear the hunters up and about.
Lucifer seems a bit awed at the admission but Castiel isn’t finished talking, his voice drips with anger and bitterness. “She thinks her and Dean share a bond does she?” He says, more to himself than to Lucifer. “I will show her a true bond with Dean Winchester!”
And Lucifer just blinks down at their cup of coffee, his hands warming around the mug before he grumbles: “And father told me I had the jealousy issues...”
