Jeff, you are seriously one of the best friends ever..
..and I hope you don't get mad that I'm about to quote some texts you sent me last night.
I know it hurts. And no, it doesn't get easier. Ever. But, you do get stronger, and depending on what you believe, there is always hope. But the love, whatever kind it was, that you and he shared is always something to be cherished and celebrated. Above all though, just don't forget that you really, truly are never alone. We are all part of the same story. Your pain isn't an enemy, either. And you're not cursed to remember alone. People are here for you, including me. Don't hesitate.
