2. Who in the party would your character trust the most with their life?
Alula, since she’s their only other healer. Though I’m sure having an eight year old as their backup is not good for Anthracite’s peace of mind.
8. What location encountered in the campaign has your character felt the most “at home” in, or just generally liked the most?
Mistshaw, specifically Melwyn’s druid grove, despite the mile-high vertical drop into the ocean where they almost drowned. Even with all the craziness happening on the rest of the continent, Mistshaw’s isolation made it feel like its own little world. I wouldn’t say Anthracite enjoyed the time they spent recuperating at the end of that arc, but she definitely needed it. She got to know her party members a little better after they also learned about one of her biggest fears. Plus, cliffside fire tossing with Lena to burn out their frustrations sure was a bonding activity.
11. Describe your character’s current relationship with the player character sitting to your right.
(Rolled and got Lena) Out of all the people in the party, Anthracite probably considers her relationship with Lena to be the closest, which is saying a lot because she still thinks they’re acquaintances at best. Professionally, she respects Lena’s skills and admires her dedication to her studies. Personally, she thinks Lena is cute and sweet and should take care of herself a little more and maybe talk about her emotions with the people she trusts, but that feels a little hypocritical coming from her so she’s too embarrassed to actually mention it.
15. What battle in the campaign has been most memorable to your character?
For Anthracite, probably the Tanicia battle. She was already anxious just from the swim down, and the underwater library location is by itself memorable - and discomforting - for her. She basically spent that entire fight focused on spell concentration and trying to ignore the rising water level.
(For Salt, it was when Anthracite life transference her remaining health to save Brutaak even though it wasn’t even a real fight because surprise surprise I’m gay.)
24. Which other player character does your character find themselves having the most in common with?
Brutaak. [REDACTED], trust betrayed, seeking revenge or at least a reason from the people who wronged them (though that’s been derailed in Anthracite’s case), gay and obliviously married… to each other……… without either of them knowing it……………….. (haha jk… unless?)
43. What is your character’s scent? (Bonus points for a description that sounds like it could be from a bad [or awesome] fanfic.)
Herbs and medicine, smoke, heat, incense and shaving cream if she has access to them, oils and such for armor upkeep, the smell of welding metal and a hint of ozone after she casts a spell that does radiant damage.
57. The player character to your left admits that they’re passionately in love with your character. How would your character respond?
For real though, Anthracite’s first response would definitely be thinking this is some sort of plot or cover story Lucy’s cooking up. If that is not the case, she’d think that he has some ulterior motive and wants something from her. She would then probably react by feeling very very tired and just ask him to tell her what he wants without all of this hassle. Part of that is of course her self-hatred talking, but mostly it’s just that while she believes in his current goals and trusts him to watch her back in battle, she does not trust him as a person.
79. What unusual talents does your character possess?
I feel like being able to heat/set your body on fire at will is pretty neat. Cooking fire, hair dryer, and light source all in one.
She can also lick her elbow, does that count?
