ok tbh im one of those people that fears judgement over silly things, like one thing i always bitch about is "i wish things like crocs and fanny packs were just accepted and not clowned on because they're just straight up HELPFUL!!"

(however having just purchased my first crocs this past weekend since i was like 7 because i wanted something to wear by the pool/beach, im starting to not give a fuck anymore. theres like a post-ironic resurgence of helpful-but-not-necessarily-sexy fashion lately anyway. i even got jibbitz. 2 dinosaurs and 1 Knuckles the echidna.)

so, i learned about hydration packs very recently. (forgive me, im not a hiker) and my first thought was "oh my goddd that would be soooo helpful for conventions or music festivals..."

but then i was like "is that overkill? people will think thats overkill if they catch me sipping out of my shoulder, right? or think its alcohol."

BUT THENNN I found out thats what tons of ravers and festivalgoers do anyway to stay hydrated in the pit!

idk who needs to hear this but if someone is walking across the street with the walk signal and you are a cyclists and have the cyclist stop signal... you need to, like, stop.

yknow. instead of barrel towards the intersection at full speed while smiling because its "so funny" to make someone think you're gonna severely injure them when you 100000% need to stop and let pedestrians walk.

(he didnt even slow btw he blew past me at full speed while i avoided him, staring daggers)

preaching to the choir here but i’m thinking about starting to insult people who can’t live without AI by calling them three year olds because obviously if they can’t live without it, they must have never known a life without it, so they must be toddlers 🤷‍♀️

god if theres just 1 thing i want people to get from my pain, rage, and rants, is that if ANY article, interview, tiktok, behind the scenes claims a movie was made "without CGI", its just lying and contributing to the *HARMFUL* narrative that we're supposed to think people's HARD WORK is some cheap and lazy thing we're supposed to hate according to... (reads smudged words).. ?? entertainment news?? thats it really.

while AI is coming for us too, I don't wanna hear shit about vfx artists' hundreds of hours of passionate labor being reduced to computer slop. The hypocrisy is just... enraging.

but seriously, you could see the rant forming here. Just take away ONE thing: THOSE. ARTICLES. ARE. LYING. EVERY. TIME. if they're not outright telling anti-truths, they're just spreading misinformation they heard elsewhere. and the hundreds of vfx artists that brought that movie to life, who cant defend themselves because of their NDA agreements, are wincing

i believe its all about your frame of mind, which media news outlets have been changing for the negative over the last decade. vfx work used to be celebrated and "cool". ILM was practically a household name from their advancements in the technology and how it expanded what we're able to accomplish in storytelling and filmmaking. Advancements that have been going on since the dawn of movies.

if what you believe you're watching on screen is a form of art, made by hundreds of artists, flaws and all, then you will be happier to view it as such. if what you believe you're watching is "real," you will have a bad time when you learn the "truth" and want something to blame. Remember, movies are movies. If you need to see something real, you are in the wrong place.

5) MY COUCH!! i LOVE my couch. in my first apartment, I owned someone else's mini futon with strange and mysterious stains. but when I moved into my nicer second apartment, I had funds for some nice new furniture and i had the time of my LIFE going couch shopping for the first time.

I dont remember where exactly I got it but I know it was some local/canadian furniture chain. its not the comfiest in the WORLD but it passes the nap and overnight sleep test just fine. and i love to have a place for friends to crash.
