I share a modified version of this famous old tweet as a reminder that women’s positivity does not require any negative statements about men that are easily open to challenge. Women’s positive qualities shine brightly, without any hindrance from the light of brilliant men and other brilliant folks who aren’t women. I understand why the original tweet had its Zeitgeist, but people really need to move on from the zero-sum mindset and the anti-male undercurrents that have long circulated in leftist spaces. The fact that patriarchy dominates society is not an excuse for toxic non sequiturs in progressive circles.
