AITA for getting my (30s M)new coworker (30s F) suspended from work after she got hired despite our romantic past?
I’ll keep things simple because I think these kinds of posts are invasive and unnecessary. I am begrudgingly single. I use my fair share of tinder. I get plenty of dates. It doesn’t matter why they never turn into anything. In the past 8 and a half or so years, I’ve matched a couple times with this woman I’ll call Wildcat. What, at first, seemed to be a one-off thing, became years of infrequent matching. I’ve learned more than I thought I would about her. I’ve known she’s been in school for a while now. A year ago, Wildcat told me she was 2 years out from a degree. Three months ago, she stepped up to the podium at our back-to-school assembly to announce the musical she’d be putting on for the students. (Which is confusing itself, because why is the honest, hardworking, good woman I’ve gotten to know cutting corners in her career? it’s also infuriating because the only teachers allowed to speak at the assembly are those who have won the teacher of the year award, which she certainly did not.) I immediately went to wildcat’s office to talk to her. She flirted with me. At work! With her complete lack of respect for the level of professionalism required for the job, I wouldn’t have been surprised if she did it in front of students. I shut her down. We’ve talked a bit since, mostly when I confront her about her disrespect for rules. Most recently, in the heat of one of our arguments, she told me that she was still in school. It explained some things but didn’t excuse them. later, I overheard some other faculty gossiping about her. I don’t know why but I ended up defending her. I got so mad I had to go outside to cool off. Our boss overheard me and followed me out. Trying to justify it to myself, I accidentally let slip that she’s not qualified. She was put on suspension the next day. Her students harass me daily because they KNOW it was me who did it. AITA?

It’s a match!
Benjamin stares at it for an eternity. He doesn’t know if he’s more shocked that she swiped right, or that he did.
All at once, his screen fades to black and starts buzzing in his hand. One name reads across his screen, and though five minutes ago he’d have jumped at the opportunity to talk to her, now, he fears it.
It rings once. Twice. Three times. A fourth. And then it goes black.
Benjamin takes a deep breath, bracing himself. Quickly, he opens his phone, navigates to his missed calls, and dials her back.
Waiting– hearing nothing but that stupid ring and the pounding of his own heart in his ears– is agony.
He hears the click, and then, “Can you tell me what’s wrong with you, please?” She starts, her voice absolutely drenched in emotion. There’s so many, and they’re so intense, it would take him hours to dissect them in order to properly analyze them. “Because I’ve met your family. They’re normal! So why aren’t you?”
When they’d matched, and she called him, he was sort-of expecting a confession of love. Not whatever this is.
“What?”
