I drew this right at the end of last year but I was struggling with the writing part during all this time... until I decided to just say screw it and start it from scratch again.
So the story isn’t quite the same, but the idea remains!

"I'm so sorry things had to be this way..."
...
The room was silent.
Dimorphite kept staring at the door, her expression stern. If it weren't for her grip getting tighter and tighter between her own hands, everyone would've thought the Governor wasn't conscious at the moment.
Descloizite sat on the set of stairs, looking at the bubble she was holding. It was obvious she'd been trying to hold back her tears, and her constant mumbling was the only sound in the entire room.
The gem, resting inside the bubble, did nothing but remember Dimorphite of the truth she'd been for so long trying to ignore. It was the confirmation that her deepest fear was sadly there, and there was no escaping from it.
She knew Des wanted nothing but go and find the ones responsible of this, but she'd told her to stay. Someone had gone already to retrieve Jeromite, and she'd be the one to handle things on her own. It was... only fair.
She was a fool. She didn't act sooner. She tried to live a happy life and forget about her problems, while they only kept increasing... and turned into this whole mess.
She... had no option but to act, even if that meant to favour that truth she despised but couldn't avoid any longer.
Someone knocked the door, and it opened a few seconds after.
"Governor!" A soft but serious voice called out, "I found the traitor!"
Dawn Sapphire entered the room. An usually happy and cheerful envoy, always bright and positive. She seemed sad, but it was only understandable due to the situation.
Jeromite walked right in front of her, her arm in a grip by the Sapphire. Her gaze was low, and her movements slow. She was holding back tears, but it seemed she'd given up on fighting any longer. Both her gem and her arms seemed to be surrounded by glowing, yellow manacles.
"We found her talking to a rebel in the scene. A Benitoite, if I'm not mistaken". Sapphire added, and Descloizite perked up. All the information she could gather to avenge Melo helped. She glared at Jeromite. She was the responsible of all this, of Melo's departure... she wanted to shatter her right on the spot, but Dimorphite quickly stopped her with a hand movement.
The governor walked a step forward. "Understood. Thank you for everything, Dawn", she replied, emotionless. "There should be a guard standing outside this room. They will help you escort Jeromite to her cell".
Jeromite looked to her side. She couldn't bare to look at Dimorphite right now. She felt guilty, bad, weak and this headache simply didn't help... She had already accepted her fate. She would go to jail and stay there the rest of her life, but she had at least tried while she could. That counted... right?
Dawn Sapphire nodded and walked back towards the entrance. Jeromite made no signs of protest as they both left.
Dimorphite felt like sighing, but contained it.
She had no choice. Things were going to change from now on.
Dawn Sapphire belongs to weresoul (dA) and Descloizite belongs to @madameequinox !
Jeromite looked around the room; again, no one seemed to be near. Just where was everybody when she actually needed them? She kept walking through the hallway, she had to find someone eventually, right?
Just when she was starting to feel like the mission wouldn't work after all, she saw a gem in the distance. Jeromite sighed; this was it. If the gem was who she thought it was, then all her efforts would have been worth it...
Jackpot. Melo Pearl saw Jeromite across the hall and approached her, a kind smile on her face.
"Hello there! It's a bit late to be around here, don't you think?"
"You're Melo Pearl, the governor's reporter, right?" Jeromite ignored the question and went straight to her point.
"Yes, I am!" Melo answered happily, "And you must be Jeromite, right? I've read the reports, it says you're from the same kindergarten as the governor! I never had the chance to talk with you before, but you must be like family to her, aren't you?"
"...No, not really". Jeromite looked at the Pearl, irritated, "Look, I was sent by the governor on a mission to the newest discovered planet, but I need someone who represents her officially to get through. Can you come with me?"
Melo smiled excitedly, "Oh, sure! I'm glad to be of help!"Jeromite nodded and walked back through the hall. Melo followed her quickly and added, curiously: "Would it be okay for me to ask how you met Dimorphite, then?"
The small gem sighed. "You know what? Sure, I'll tell you on the way. Now hurry up or we're gonna be late".
......................... ...................................... It's been a while since then.
I made my first ever Speedpaint for this one! It freezes a bit now and then, but I hope to fix that on future videos! Check it out here!
