It's truly a humbling experience to figure out not one but BOTH of your parents are the most dysfunctional people in the world and they BOTH decided to get married and have a child. They dislike each other so much that their hate extends to you because they can see each other in your actions and words. The experiences you both went through don't even matter at the end of the day because it's something they'll use against you in some minute argument about how they did their best. They surely gave it their all while telling you how useless you were growing up and how disappointed they are at what you've grown to be. Yet they stay together for you in some way or another, or whatever they tell themselves to make it easier to wake up every morning next to each other after wasting 20-30+ years together. Maybe it was really all for nothing. A lifetime wasted with a pill stuck in your throat that should've been thrown up long ago.
