I worry about you. I worry about how you are, If everything is okay. Most of all I worry That you don’t ever think of me. Did my heart let you down?
~ J. Sharp
I cannot remember
the last time I was touched
in a way that didn’t make me feel
like I owed something back.
You make your choices.
And you are
what I make you.
I have discovered
that I long for things I don’t really want.
I cry at adverts and I shrink
when my hand is held.
I turn good men away
because your lifeless shadow
is still in my bed.
I used to have a compass in me
and without a constant North
it would always somehow
lead me back to you.
My memories will ruin me,
I am aware of that.
Especially if I keep feeding them like this.
I used to be
someone I was proud of.
~ J. Sharp
