today i learned:
הכשר is spelled "hechsher" in english not "hexture". transliteration is wack
there is a Christian holiday that is literally שבועת (Shavuot) but um Christian. its Pentecoste, its 50 days after Easter Sunday. Shavuot is the 50th day after the second night of Passover (you start counting ספירת העומר on the second day of Passover). so. yeah. i laughed when i found out - not because Christian holidays aren't valid. It's just funny to me that the holidays are literally the same. and because of the whole Passover Easter thing (last supper probably being a passover seder, saying probably because i don’t actually know the whole theory or whatever).
I also learned that there a LOT of books in the תנך. but until today i never saw them divided in anyway other than Torah, Nevi'im (Prophets), Ketuviim (Writings), and then the Megillot are often referred to as "the Megillot"
OH i had to clean my room, found out i was keeping 15 books in my bed. one of which was a book on the Midrash so yeah. fun times. Midrash is actually very cool and interesting. XD
