Abbendis' Trip
Abbendis awoke in the middle of the night. He sat up, running his hands through his hair as he immediately found that Jill had not been there. He knew that she goes out in the middle of the night to hunt but he never assumed he would wake without her. He took a deep breathe, sliding his feet off the edge of the bed. He stood up, walking over to the corner of his room where he had his stuff, throwing on a pair of leather pants and keeping on his white linen shirt. He slipped on his boots and headed for the door, holding a small vial in his hand.
He walked out onto the porch, glancing around as he tried to spot Jill. He didn’t see her or anything for miles. He sat down on the steps, taking a deep breathe as he looked at the vial, filled with a purple liquid. He popped the cork, leaning back, touching the vial to his lips and drinking the contents. He would sit back up, wiping the corners of his mouth as he tucked the vial into his pot. Setting his mind free as he looked up to the sky, watching the stars for what felt like hours but was merely minutes.
A crack of a stick would be heard, he would immediately look down, as he lowered his chin, a blade would be felt pressed against his throat. “So, it took you this long to find me, is that all you got?” He knew who it was, though they were shrouded by the darkness and a dark hood. “Oh Abb, why would I kill you when you were depressed and lonely? That’s what you wanted and I knew that.” Abb shook his head, “I see, so you waited for me to be happy… Bas, you know Jill will not let you get away with killing me, you will be a nice meal for her.” The man lowered his hood, there was no use trying to hide his identity from Abb. “She’s no threat to me, just another whore wolf that will sleep with anyone to get a daddy for her kids.” This angered Abb, “Watch what you say there Bas, I will still kill you where you stand. You mock her, you mock her kids. She came to find me, came and saved me from-” he was interrupted, “Fool! She came to have a father figure! You are just another piece of meat that she can throw to her dog, or better yet herself.” Abb slowly stood up, the blade pressing into his skin as Basterion tried to hold him down, his neck, slicing ever so slightly. Blood pouring down into the linen. “Abb, sit the fuck down.” He shook his head, “Bas, did you forget who I am? What I fight for? My mother killed herself because we lost my father. Do you really think a small slice of my neck is really going to hold me back?” He grabbed Basterions hand, pushing the blade just off of his neck, as more blood ran down, quicker now into the linen. He would move as quickly as he could to get behind the man, pushing him successfully onto the wooden steps, as he slammed his fist the quickest he could towards the mans face. Basterion slipping away in just enough time for Abb to nail the wood, splitting it and causing more blood on his hand.
Abb grabbed his sword from the deck, turning and looking at Basterion as he smirked, “aww, what? Now your going to chase me and try to kill me but ultimately fail?” His eyes glared at Basterion, “Your going to die like you should have that night!” He jumped forward at him, swinging his sword down in a greater motion then he thought that he could ever do, the sword slicing through the dirt to almost a 90 degree angle, up and down from him. Basterion smirked again, staring at him. “Worthless, still. Just like your father.” Abb lost it, launching his sword forward as his mind emitted a multitude of colors in his eyes. Blinking multiple times as he watched the sword split Basterions head. The entire seen becoming black as he fell to the ground.
The next morning as Jill arrived, she would see him on the ground, a small pool of blood under him from a combination of his neck and hand bleeding. A sword pierced into a tree in front of them, and a vial tucked into his boot, sticking out enough for her to see a warning across it. “Gossamer’s Potion. Warning: May cause hallucinations beyond your control.”
