jim skye (he/she), formerly known as james trevelyan. he’s a distant cousin that was initially promised to the chantry but ran away and took to the seas instead. she’s a reaver who ran ashore following a pretty gnarly mutiny which he doesn’t really want to talk about thanks
ok NOTHING IS FINAL until i get into the game myself but i have been thinking and pondering and i think i've got some rook plans:
playthrough 1- ???? ingellvar, dwarf mourn watcher, still noodling on class. i think some folks think the mourn watch rook background is a little weird but tbh i'm intrigued by it. who put this baby there. i think they're a bit of a shut-in.
playthrough 2- james trevelyan laidir, better known as jim skye. lord of fortune warrior (still noodling over subclass) this is why i usually don't like coming into a game w an oc already planned b/c canon backstory/naming can be different, buuut i think the diff name works for jim given her whole deal is that she abandoned the family name and ties to it, and in my mind adopted an entirely diff accent than the rest of the ostwick trevelyans to further distance himself. might be messing around w jim to make her a liiiiittle younger tho.
zero idea who the romances will be for either of them and will not know until i actually play. gotta get the vibes in real time
because my brain cannot be trusted to put an idea to rest, i have started on a companion guide for jim! a snippet on his recruitment:
Jim can be found in the Storm Coast, once the Inquisitor has already journeyed there before (the Iron Bull does not need to be recruited, you just have to have visited and exited the Storm Coast once). Jim will be in the middle of a fight with several Blades of Hessarian.

After fighting off the Blades of Hessarian, Jim will thank the Inquisitor for their help and introduce herself. (“Jim Skye, at your service. Appreciate the help.”) Jim will echo Scout Harding’s concerns at the Blades’ presence on the Coast, and mention that he’s not seen them before.
If the Inquisitor is a Trevelyan: A special dialogue option will trigger.

The Inquisitor has the option to ask if Jim would like to join them as part of the Inquisition. Jim will laugh and initially decline.
The Inquisition? Absolutely fuckin’ not. I left to get away from all the Andrastian proselytizing, not to bow to her so-called Herald. No offense. I am…experiencing some unexpected difficulties right now, though, if you’re inclined to help out, for old times’ sake? Contract work. No preaching. ‘Til I’m back on my feet.

If not recruited: Very well, all for the best. Good luck out there, cousin. She will not appear again in-game, but the Inquisitor will later receive a War Table Mission from her, mentioning that she has found a new ship and crew, but wants you to track down some ‘old colleagues’ before she gets on her way.
