In #thegreatpretender a proposito di #mrbadguy, #jimbeach dice: "Era un desiderio che Freddie voleva realizzare e, conoscendolo, anche un modo per vedere quanti soldi avrebbe fatto." Mi piace questa dichiarazione. È semplice e spontanea e, detta da uno che #freddiemercury lo ha conosciuto davvero bene, è assolutamente credibile e coerente. Soprattutto spazza via quella visione edulcorata che oggi si ha di Freddie, una sorta di musicista votato esclusivamente alla propria arte e quasi disinteressato agli aspetti economici del fare musica. Una visione che spesso viene messa in contrapposizione con quella che invece si tende ad avere di #brianmay e #rogertaylor (e in minima parte anche di #johndeacon) visti come quelli oggi interessati solo "a far soldi". Un punto di vista ancora più ridicolo se si considera che quel far soldi avviene sfruttando la #musica che hanno scritto e suonato. Come se guadagnare dal proprio lavoro, fosse anche sotto forma di rendita, fosse qualcosa di disdicevole o oltraggioso. Whether you are a Queen fan or not, you'll fall in love with Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury, he plays him with a sense of innocence thrown into the camp. I'm far from knowledgeable about the real front man, but the choices Malek makes are winning for a music biopic.
