Today as I lay in a patch of sun like a cat in summertime, I was riddled with a question which - I wasn't sure why I didn't think of it earlier! Will we see Sherlock and co again in TToD, or does the boys finally learn to put Holmes behind them??

(Mycroft is a different thing entirely of course, I am still hoping praying he will get bashed with hammers)

You won't see them from their pov, that's for certain! TToD is 100% Jim and Seb's pov, no exceptions.

Actually, in my original ideas for part 3, the Holmes brothers did not feature at all, like, not even a mention. Of course, after spending all that time in their pov in FiF it's pretty much impossible to justify that they wouldn't be immediately on the hunt the second they'd know Seb was out.

So yeah, they do feature, mostly in the second half, and I'm still working on exactly how, and how much. But they won't be more than a sidenote. The focus remains from start to finish uncomfortably close on Jim and Sebastian.

It's mostly funny because only a couple of days ago my friends and I were chatting about the sarah z video and one of them went you should go tell her you wrote a sequel and I went nooooo. To go in as a writer and say "hi relatively famous person, you once read a fic of mine and I made a new one now, want to read it?" feel too presumptuous (especially because I assumed the response would be thanks but I'm not really interested). But I can't really mind if a reader does that, tbh, even if it did make me meep a bit, especially 'cause it's done out of enthusiasm. So in a way, thanks!

Also I know because I came across your post and showed your tags to my wife who immediately went to bluesky (she has an account, I don't) to find the exchange in question and rub my face into it, bc she is a troll <3

Honestly the response has been amazing. Every single person commenting how they're excited coming back to something they loved 10 years ago and still loving it today is just... It's humbling, but it also invariably each time makes my day.

And yeah, you know. There is absolutely no reason for me to do this other than just love for the thing I'm making. Don't get me wrong, like I said, being able to share it with people who like it too is fucking great and is a great motivator too, but essentially, the reason I'm doing this is because I like the story that I'm crafting.
