It’s all Jim Moir’s fault. I love the show “painting birds with Jim and Nancy”. (Aka Vic Reeves). The show is my happy place. Their life, I covet. I really want Jim’s art shed. So badly. The issue is, every time I watch the show, I want to try watercolours again. He makes it look so easy. It’s not. But I have been thinking how to add more dynamic movement to my work. Last night we happened to watch the tern episode. Ugh. Beautiful. So I did a test piece for a drawing sketched out already. Watercolour and colour pencil. Am I brave enough to throw watercolours on a large piece of Fabriano, in case I ruin it? I really like how the test came out, especially as I used the “bad” side of the paper - imagine if I remembered to do it on the good side!
