oh! oh! (> w <) for your summer doodle time you should make something that has to do with a fair! where i live, summer time is always associated with fair time! the rides, the food, the totally rigged fair games! lol! so many cute scenes and scenarios to work with!!! <3 happy summer vacay!!!
Ohman this was such a fun prompt, thank you so much! I had at least 7 different ideas for this but decided to go with modern au Jiang Yanli and Jin Zixuan taking there son out for a happy day because these three did get done dirty in canon and deserve happiness! ;_;
(Jiang Cheng and Wei Wuxian are probably there as well, fighting over the last bit of cotton candy just around the corner. Mingjue is asleep on a bench, guarded by Meng Yao while Huaisang is dragging the Lan bros around from one ride to another.)

“Do you think we even have the resources to properly cleanse this place right now? Our sect has crumbled—when we get back to Lanling, we’ll find Carp Tower empty and ransacked, and all the servants gone!”
“What are you talking about, old man? We have enough to cleanse this place right here—a hundred strong Jin cultivators! And if we’re ever going to have any standing again—”
“I agree with Lin-xiansheng. Now that this place has been cleaned and its ghosts pacified for now, our priority must be returning to Carp Tower with our prisoners to try them—”
“Of course you want to leave this to the Jiang, Madam Jin—”
“I’m still skeptical that we should even be taking these traitors back to Carp Tower—”
“And let them be judged by other sects? Never!”
“What do you think, Sect Leader Jin?”
“Yes, what do you say?”
It was two solid seconds of silence before Jin Ling realized they were speaking to him.
Well, it would have been silence, if he wasn’t surrounded by about a hundred LanlingJin disciples, all of whom were pretending not to listen to the arguments of...what seemed to be their leaders. Beyond the lake of sparks-amid-snow was a crowd made up of every sect in the land, standing around and talking.
A lil post-canon drawing of #wangxian spending an afternoon with their found family - Their son Lan Sizhui, Jin Ling, Lan Jingyi, & uncle Wen Ning!!! I want them all to be happy hehe~
Just a little Jiang Cheng and Jin Ling doggy fluff... (-ω-ゞ
“Uncle!”
“No.”
“But, Uncle!”
“Jin Ling. I said no.”
Jin Ling huffed, pouting. The pair had returned from walking Fairy in the park when Jin Ling noticed that a stray puppy had followed them home. Fairy held no interest in the puppy and ran inside to lay on her bed, as if the walk had been the most grueling of walks. Jin Ling had carefully approached the puppy, coaxing it toward him with gentle sounds and movements. Finally, the puppy sniffed Jin Ling's hand before rubbing its small head against it. Now he held the puppy against his chest, facing the wrath of his uncle, Jiang Cheng.
“Can we please keep him?” Jin Ling pouted. He held the puppy so that his big eyes were wide on Jiang Cheng.
Jiang Cheng took a deep breath, pinching the bridge of his nose. He studiously refused to look at the puppy. “Jin Ling, you already have a dog. You barely take care of that one!”
“Hey! I take care of Fairy!” Jin Ling bristled, defending himself and the puppy momentarily forgotten. “I feed Fairy, I take her out when you're not here, I bathe her... I take care of Fairy!”
At the moment, the puppy in Jin Ling's arms whimpered, scared and confused by Jin Ling's outburst. Jin Ling immediately returned his attention towards the puppy, petting his head softly.
“Jin Ling, you do not need two dogs when the one you have is already a handful.” Jiang Cheng glared at Jin Ling, still refusing to look at the puppy. He knew what would happen if he did. “Puppies are a lot more work than grown dogs, you know this.”
“Yeah, but Uncle, this can be your dog!” Jin Ling felt as though he had an epiphany. He knew very well how his uncle couldn't refuse any animal once he laid eyes on it. It was the just the way Jiang Cheng was. Jin Ling lifted the puppy up to his face, putting him in Jiang Cheng's direct line of sight.
“Urgh.” Jiang Cheng grunted, trying to tear his eyes away from the puppy. He couldn't. Jiang Cheng stared into the puppy's chocolate brown eyes, seeing the faces of all the dogs he was forced to give up when he was a child and his brother had been adopted. He didn't throw a fit when Jin Guangyao, Jin Ling's other uncle, gave Fairy to Jin Ling because once he saw the puppy, he was a goner. Jiang Cheng sighed, unable to resist any longer – not that he had put up much of a fight. “FINE!”
Jin Ling grinned.
“You can keep the puppy... But you're cleaning up after it.”
Three days later, Jin Ling walks into the living in search of his uncle. The sight that greets him upon entering has him nearly doubling over in silent laughter. On the couch lies a sleeping Jiang Cheng, the stray puppy cuddled on his chest. Jin Ling knew this would happen, but it didn't make it any less funny.
