Tamon asked:
福原多聞__Sweat-slicked, inhumanly damp under the inelegant confines of a paper bag, enhanced by the inherent humidity of the air after a hard rainfall - He was inherently uncomfortable, but likely not as uncomfortable as the two waiting back home; Accused of never stocking up his fridge with anything sweet, he had sworn to atone for his uselessness and immediately ran off to a nearby 24-hour combini. Now, on the dark streets, this may have been a questionable idea... while he deserved the anxiety for causing it first, it wasn't usually so... terrifying, at night? Footsteps halted, unable to bring his legs forward a single step more, the all-consuming feeling of dread refusing to allow him passage past a particular dark alleyway, but neither could he turn tail and flee in any other direction. ....ah... maybe he could at least ask whatever came out of there to deliver the ice-cream, after he was eaten?__🍄
಄—There was a certain feeling to be had every time he saw it, in whatever time and frame it was in to be seen. Tokyo. A place he knew from some other time, and a place where he did not belong. Even now, he could identify the common sights just out beyond the alleyway, and yet all the places he would recognize, were still not the places he had been during his youth with Satoru. Or later on, with his twins. It was all here - busy, bustling, glowing, even at this hour. He could find himself in ten thousand places called 'Tokyo', but he could never never go back to his own. Rather than tread further through that existential examination of the surroundings they came upon, outside of the gateway they'd been testing, Getou Suguru stepped forward from the shadows and right into the path of a denizen of the city. A bagged citizen. That is. A fellow with his visage stowed profoundly within a paper bag. 'Hn. A weirdo.' Ah, well. That might be easier to work with.
Getou measured his expression and presented himself affably; his countenance was still arranged in the disarming image of a monk - since he often filled the role at home, regardless, and he hadn't changed just before they had indulged in a little reckless science. Still, given where they had arrived, it might facilitate exploration better to seem more unassuming. There were reasons why he'd leaned into the image in the first place. Putting the stranger at ease would give a better sense of whether he would be forthcoming with information or not. The person carried themselves in a beleaguered way, but he couldn't help but perceive something unusual about him. ...besides the damp paper bag mask, of course. It was almost as though there was something ...else, paralleled to his presence.
❝Careful, now. Were you startled? I apologize if we surprised you! The rain caught us unprepared, and I'm glad to see that you escaped the worst of it. Do you have a moment to speak? As you can see, I cannot compensate you financially. But I wouldn't forget your kindness, if you could spare a bit of time.❞
