@jinxedcrow asked: “ come on , take a deep breath . it’s gonna be alright . ”
Weiss huffed, wiping her eyes and taking a shaky, but deep breath. Qrow was right, or at the very least, Weiss had to believe he was right. Things would turn out okay, she thought to herself. Things would turn out okay, they had to.
Standing in the mansion she grew up in had already presented her with enough ghosts, but she had just arrested Jacques.
The moment itself had been glorious, the aftermath was less than so.
Weiss found herself cracking at the seams. The hurt in her brother’s eyes as their father was dragged away clawed at her. She’d had the beasts of Grimm dig into her, but it paled in comparison to how she felt right now. Whitley... she’d abandoned him before, and now she had to leave again to go save Mantle. Winter was to become her namesake’s Maiden in due time and her mother’s parting words to her only served to remind Weiss of her own failings.
“Do you really believe that?” Weiss asked, voice small and weak. She wiped the tears from her eyes before looking up at Qrow.
