i honestly loved this scene. especially following the one where vi acknowledges jinx for growing up and not needing her anymore in the mines.

even despite the nod vi gives to how far jinx has come into using her engineering intellect and independence, jinx is still taken aback that vi holds any stock in her word. the disbelief in her eyes and the slow drawl to her question.

i love how both sisters have their hair in their face, a visual shield from open access to their eyes, seeking shelter from being candidly vulnerable.

so awkward with each other.

but the way vi is backing up the fact that she knows jinx doesn’t need her anymore and can actually have her own input as an adult touches my heart.

with powders backstory as being the little girl who just wanted to be useful and to belong and to help…somewhere deep inside, it still means a lot.
