*Absconder Arrested after 14 Years: Reasi Police* In Continued drive against Absconders launched by District Police Reasi, after 14 years of Chase, Reasi Police arrested a proved theft accused Absconder who was evading arrest in criminal case of year 2002. Charge sheet was produced against accused Mohd Shafi @Khalid S/O Suraj Din R/O Ladha Devigarh Reasi after theft Case FIR number 79/2002 Dated 06:05:2002 U/S 381 RPC, Police Station Reasi, was proved. Subsequently trial started in the court of law. To escape conviction, accused jumped the bail & evaded trial. On 28/07/2002 Hon’ble court issued non-bailable warrants U/S 512 CrPC to arrest the accused Mohd Shafi @Khalid & produce before the Hon'ble court of Munsiff Reasi. Accused evaded Court proceedings by going underground & couldn’t be apprehended for the last fourteen long years. Reasi Police developed a specific input by meticulously planning & chased till his arrest from Damnote Area district Udhampur. This is arrest of EIGHTH ABSCONDER by Reasi Police in last two weeks against whom warrant U/S 512 CrPC was pending. *Bovine smuggling bid foiled by Police Akhnoor* Akhnoor : During Intervening night, in two different incidents, four vehicles bearing regn. No. JK01AC6776, JK 12A 4348; JK11B 2104 and JK12A-2511 were stopped for checking by Police Party Akhnoor under *SHO Hilal Azhar.* It was found that bovines were being transported without requisite permission. 13 Bovines were accordingly rescued and accused persons namely 1. Jahangir Hussain S/o Feroz Din R/o Dingla Jangial Poonch, 2. Basharat Hussain S/o Mohd Aslam R/o Dingla Jangial Poonch, 3. Javed Iqbal S/o Mohd Isar R/o Badhan Rajouri, 4. Chet Ram S/o Subash Chander R/o Mangnad Poonch and 5. Imtiyaz Ahmed S/o Bader Din R/o Chaktro Poonch were arrested. Accordingly Case FIR No. 107/2021 and 108/2021 U/s 188 IPC, 11 PC Act, 184 MV Act registered. Chalian (Charas) from his concious possession. The rider on questioning disclosed his identity as Sahil Kumar S/O Sanjay kumar R/O Arnas, Tehsil Arnas, District Reasi. In this regard a Case U/S 8/20 NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Reasi. Reasi Police has launched a full fledged drive against the Drug Peddlers under the able leadership of Smt Rashmi Wazir, SSP Reasi and Sh Surjeet Kumar Addl SP Reasi.
