Someone tell me why this is relevant, and i swear to god if someone brings up siring i will go crazy
It's about symbolism rather than actual relevancy, but it's ironic Damon said that back in S02. Also, out of every vampire of the city, Plec decided to make Damon's blood the chosen one to turn Elena. I'll quote my friend here:
50 miles separated Damon and Elena from each other.
Damon was about to die because Alaric was beating the hell out of him.
Elena was about to die because Matt accidentally drove both of them off the Wickery bridge.
Elena died but her death saved Damon’s life because vamp!Alaric’s life was tied to hers.
Elena died but Damon saved her because it was his blood that she had in her system.
Despite the distance they kept each other alive. How awesome is that?
And that remind us what Elena told Damon in 3x09 "We always survive". They do. The awesomeness of this has nothing to do with siring and everything to do with their story and promises.
