Hello US centric world
India and her students are currently fighting for their lives every day. This is not a metaphor or allegory to something bigger. This is the news. Today, one of the most revered and prominent universities in India, Jawaharlal Nehru University, saw its students being attacked in their hostels. Pelted with stones, beaten with sticks, and women students threatened with acid attacks - just a few things that have happened in the past few hours. The details are gory, and horrifying. The student president of JNUSU, AISHE GHOSH, was brutally attacked and beaten on the head. We do not know her condition except that it is currently critical. I am exhausted after having spent the night catching up on what is happening so all the visceral details I will post tomorrow. But can we PLEASE talk of this. Please. I am begging you from the edge of my seat. I do not want to be killed in my own university. Nobody does. Why are student lives not taken seriously across the world? What do we mean to you, if not the future?
TALK OF JNU. TALK OF THE CITIZENSHIP AMENDMENT ACT. TALK OF THE NATIONAL REGISTRY OF CITIZENS. TALK OF THE PROTESTS IN INDIA. WE HAVE BEEN SCREAMING SINCE AUGUST 2019. CAN WE GET SOME FUCKING PRESSURE ON MODI SHAH TO STOP THIS???????
