Jo is clearly the best character is bandstand change my mind
sksk can you write a soft donny/julia thing i love your writing 😔💕👊
I am so sorry this took like four months! I hope you enjoy it.
“Hey Donny, remember that time we talked about getting a dog” Julia said as she walked into the apartment.
“I think I mentioned it once and then forgot about it”
“Well,” Julia stepped past the entryway “I have a fantastic surprise for you” A large black dog followed.
“Julia did you get us a dog?” Donny walked over and knelt next to the dog, giving it a perfect chance to like his face.
“Jo is moving in with Morgan next week, but they just found out that Morgan’s apartment doesn’t allow dogs” Julia explained. Jo had explained that she didn’t want to just give Max to the pound, but her lease was set to run out in a week and she was running out of options. Julia jumped at the chance, and Jo immediately agreed because that meant she would still get to see Max “And since ours does…”
“We have a dog?” Donny asked. He smiled and Max returned the gesture.
“Yep” Donny started laughing and Max licked his face in concern. The dog was a border collie and was actually more white than black. “She sent over his food and a couple of toys”
Julia pulled out a couple of toys that didn’t catch Max’s attention. The last one in the bag was a duck that squeaked when she threw it on the ground. Max barked and jumped on the duck which made it squeak more.
Donny stood up and kissed Julia . “How was your day?”
“It was good” Julia dropped the duffle bag that had been holding Max’s stuff on the floor “Jo offered us a gig tonight at the Blue Wisp some guy bailed and they have an empty slot” Donny reached for his phone and frowned when his hands came up empty. “I already texted the bands. Everyone is up for it, Jimmy just needs to know how much homework he’s going to have before he agrees”
“Are you sure we can leave the dog?” Donny asked. Max had wandered away to explore the apartment.
“Jo says he should be fine, she leaves him alone all the time and he usually just sleeps until she gets back” Julia whistled and Max came trotting back “Who’s a nice dog?”
Donny nodded then frowned “I should find my phone” He kissed Julia one more time before disappearing into the bedroom.
Julia sat down on the couch and Max took the chance to put his head in her lap so she could pet him “You’re a good dog” Julia decided that she would be willing to sit here forever. Max’s fur was soft and warm and she was tired enough to fall asleep.
“I found my phone” Donny sat next to Julia and leaned his head against her shoulder. Max seemed conflicted about whose lap to put his head in, so he just put it between them. Donny reached out to pet the dog.
“So we get to keep the dog right?” Julia asked. She wanted to make sure Donny was actually on board.
“Why would we not?” Donny leaned down to let Max lick his face. “I think he fits into this house perfectly”
Julia nodded “Wake me up at five” She instructed, letting her eyes drift closed. Donny agreed and she let herself drift off with her hand on the dogs head.

KAT MAY WE HAVE SOME.... JO AND MORGAN.... PRETTY PLEASE
ALWAYS also this has been sitting in my wips folder forever but it's finally done!
raindrops on roses
It had been raining all day. The city was soaked until everything was a dull grey, from the pavement to the people. So when Jo heard crying from the alley next to the club she was surprised. It wasn't a person, no, it was too small a sound. As she got closer to the crying she found a tiny calico kitten wailing her little lungs out.
“Oh honey.” Jo scooped the little creature into her arms, stroking it's head gently, “Is your mama around?”
The tiny cat just buried herself further into Jo's arms, trying to escape from the cold as Jo looked around the alley for any signs of the mother cat.
After almost ten minutes Jo was soaked to the bone and with no sign of the kitten's mother or littermates. “Well it looks like you'll be coming home with me then little one.”
The pair trekked through the rainy streets of Cleveland, the kitten tucked safely in Jo’s warm coat. She really should have brought an umbrella. But finally they made it home, home to the apartment building just a few blocks down from the club.
“Before I say anything, you have to promise not to be angry.” Jo stepped through the door, that wasn't her finest entrance, but that could be blamed on the rain and how the tiny bundle in her arms squirmed, anxious to get down.
“What did you do this time?” Morgan sighed as she turned around from where she stood at the kitchen counter. It was obvious she had been baking again, the apartment was warm and smelled like summer fruits.
“Surprise?” Jo uncovered the kitten, who poked her head out of Jo’s hands to look around before crying again.
“Jo, is that a kitten? Where on Earth did you find a kitten?” Morgan stood there in her apron, blueberry filling splattered across the front, looking baffled as ever.
“Outside.” The cat meowed louder. “I think she's hungry, do we have any milk?”
“Outside where exactly?” Morgan followed Jo back into the kitchen in a state of disbelief at her girlfriend’s antics.
“The Wisp, she was crying and her mama wasn't around. So I picked her up.” Jo pulled out the half gallon of milk from the fridge, making sure to keep a good grip on the squirmy kitten. “Hand me a saucer and a spoon please.”
Morgan blew out an exasperated breath, as she retrieved the items. “I guess we can keep it, but it better not have fleas.”
“She doesn't have fleas, and just look at that face.” Jo held the cat up for Morgan to see.
And Morgan melted. She reached out a finger and pet the calico’s tiny, fluffy head. “She is kinda cute.”
Jo just smiled as she settled down on the floor, the kitten placed directly in front of her. “Now let's see how hungry the baby girl is.”
She carefully poured some of the milk into a small dish, the half gallon then set behind her. With one hand holding the still crying kitten in place she dipped the spoon into the milk. “Open wide.”
“You're doing it wrong, here give it to me.” Morgan took the spoon with a little milk in it and held it just in front of the kittens nose. Eventually after she had cried a bit after getting her nose wet she lapped up the milk with a starved fervor.
“There we go,” Morgan cooed as the little cat ate until her belly was full. “Now go see your mama.”
She handed Jo the sleepy kitten as she cleaned up the milky mess. Then not before long the kitten let out the most precious yawn before curling up against Jo's chest completely. She fell asleep in a matter of seconds, her tiny chest rising and falling softly.
“She needs a name,” Jo said quietly, not wanting to wake the kitten.
“She does,” Morgan thought for a moment, taking off her berry stained apron, “What about Ophelia?”
“Perfect.” Jo rubbed a finger under the newly named Ophelia's chin. “Our own little Ophelia.”
They sat in silence a little while longer, just watching calico sleep. It filled the usually cold kitchen with a warmth, almost a sense of fulfilment. Whatever it was neither woman wanted to break it.
“I love you, you know.” Morgan leaned in the kiss Jo, careful not to disturb Ophelia. “Even if you do bring animals home without warning.”
“I love you more,” Jo mumbled against Morgan's lips, not wanting the kiss to end. Morgan's kisses always felt like home and safety, something she never wanted to leave.
“I love you most.” Morgan sealed her words with another sunshine kiss and Jo knew in that moment she had everything she could ever want and then some.
