Probably no one off of social media, much less not into physique development, has ever heard of Jo Lindner, a.k.a. Joesthetics. He just passed away at the age of 30.
Young, healthy, and muscular guys have been dropping like flies in the last few years. This is not just some anomaly. It used to just be professional bodybuilders who often went before their time was up, but now with everybody and their dog trying to be an influencer, the pressure to outdo the other guy on a daily basis has jacked up the pace quite a bit.
I’m not judging these guys for giving into the pressure of being popular and successful on an image basis, but looking on social media, I’m a little bothered how people are tending to sugarcoat this phenomenon that doesn’t need to exist.
The weird thing about photography is that, a huge muscular person tends to look smaller than they actually are in real life, but at the same time can be made to look much more impressive than they actually are. The former has a mental effect on the person trying to give an impression, the latter has the effect of pushing other people harder, thinking they need to look like something that doesn’t really exist. Something to think about, isn’t it?
