Jo’s world 101: The Afterlife
Now this one’s a craaaazy mess.
Alright, so first of all...there isn’t one there by design or on purpose, any and all afterlives exist solely on the merit of people’s beliefs. Which basically means if enough people believe in a specific afterlife, it comes into existence.
That being said, after going through judgement at the hands of a Psychopomp either on Earth or in the “Threshold” between the various afterlives (known to Christians as purgatory), you pretty much either go to the after life you believe you’ll go to, or you’ll end up getting booted out of the threshold and back into the physical plane, most of the time in a new reincarnation.
Reincarnation is rarer in Jo’s world than one might think, aside from cases where reincarnation is a core part of a soul’s belief system.
Most of the time though, when a soul reincarnates they end up essentially being their previous self with just their memories locked away, slowly regaining them as they grow up, as was the case with Amaterasu’s current kitsune form, Tamamo, and several different incarnations of Izanagi through out the years.
Although at times there’s the rare case where while belongs to an older entity, the entity will instead allow a new personality to flourish and grow as the child does.
While this is a united Toei super hero verse, I’m still figuring out how to reconcile the Sailor Moon and Shinto mythology mythos with one another.
Will probably reconcile it in a “Jo’s World: Creation” post type thing
This is my channel. I'll be posting videos frequently. So far my video schedule is Wednesdays will be 'Ask Jo' where you can ask me questions and I'll answer them in a video. Fridays will be like 'Shout out Friday'. I'll try to stream live also at 6:00pm to 6:30pm. It's a new thing I'm trying. Mainly you guys could suggest topics that I should talk about in my upcoming videos. I hope you like it so far :D
