I applied for 9 jobs today! Just retail/foodservice chains - I’m looking for a stable business that’s hiring, and that’s about it. Honestly, after my last few jobs, I’m looking for something to invest LESS of myself into. I want to do the work, do it well, get paid, and go home. Working for small businesses, where it’s just a small handful of people plus the boss/owner, who’s really passionate about it but maybe not the most practical - that’s emotionally exhausting. I’m ready for just regular exhausting for a while. Which means leaving my preferred industry (so I’ll have time/energy to do agricultural things at home) and corporate masters.
Are they actually going to hire people right now? I don’t know, but I’m applying anyway. It’s all I can do, really, except try to sell some things on craigslist. And I’ll already be in their system if this starts getting better in a few weeks. If.
In other news, I had to start a waiting list for my eggs. I already took my fb etc ads down, so this is just return customers. Some of them bought eggs less than a week ago, but they’re all after more. I don’t *think* grocery stores are actually sold out of eggs, so I have to assume this is just stocking up on the good stuff, combined with the appealing fact that buying eggs from me only involves talking to one person (me) instead of walking through a whole grocery crowd.
