South Philadelphia street artist, fine artist, and musician Joe Boruchow says says his silhouette wheatpastes, scanned from small hand-made cutouts—in which all the black lines are connected—"are an evolution from when I used stencils to make posters for my band, The Nite Lights." Since his early use of street art to condemn Bush administration policies, @StreetsDept says "Joe has remained one of the most dependable political voices within the Philly street art scene, having created some of the most compelling protest art of the Trump era.” Also sensitive to the community needs and reactions, however, Boruchow has done several projects for Philadelphia's groundbreaking @MuralArts program. In 2016, as South Philadelphia's Snyder Plaza was undergoing a metamorphosis, Mural Arts assisted with the transformation and Boruchow created this series of panels a block from I-95 on Snyder Ave at S Swanson St. @joeboruchow/
