the copper beeches, the hound of the baskervilles, and a study in scarlet are all favorites of mine!!!! I also really love the copper beeches, because it was the first Holmes sorry I found and read ;;; but I think my all time is The Three Garidebs (I think I spelled that right fjskfkskdk) because "It was worth the wound, it was worth many wounds," more like stab me in the heart 😩 that entire scene makes me cry every time.

I haven’t read the Three Garridebs in ages but I remember I really liked it! I forgot which story that bit was from omg it’s soooo good though

question of the day: what are some of your favorite sacd stories and why? :D

hmmm…. It’s been quite a while since I’ve read some of them, but i really like the redheaded league, the copper beeches, the hound of the baskervilles, the final problem, and thor bridge. i don’t remember thor bridge so well but i think it’s the one where someone ties a gun to a rock and hangs the rock over the side of the bridge so that the gun will fall into the river and make their suicide look like murder. i might have the wrong title actually but i just remember being so impressed with that and how holmes figured it out. same with the redheaded league and the copper beeches - the crimes were just so interesting. 

Of course the hound of the baskervilles is a classic, but there’s something about the atmosphere in it, as well as holmes and watson’s relationship through the story, that i just really like. Henry baskerville is a really sympathetic character, as well.

I just read the final problem for the first time about a week ago, and i love it but it also makes me want to cry. Holmes knows he’s probably going to die, and he invites watson on a vacation. and they wander around europe for a while and then of course there’s the scene at the falls, and sherlock’s note, and watson is devastated and it breaks my heart. You can tell from his narration just how upset he is when he’s writing it, even though it’s been 2 years, and honestly i’m so glad the sherlockians of olde pestered SACD until he wrote the empty house because i don’t think i could take it otherwise.

TELL ME ALL YOUR FAVORITE THINGS ABOUT IT. GO.

OK THE BEST PART IS LIKE NEAR THE START WITH HOLMES SAYING THEY’RE GAY AND THEN THE SCENE WHERE WATSON CONFRONTS HIM!!! LIKE THE “WE SHOULD GET MARRIED” “THEN PEOPLE WOULD REALLY TALK” PART AND THE “THE ANSWER IS YES, YOU’RE BEING PRESUMPTUOUS” PART AND HOW WATSON LIKE. GOES UP AND STANDS REALLY REALLY CLOSE TO HIM IN THAT SCENE. there are just so many good lines in general though like “you’re shorter than she expected” “well i didn’t mean to be” and when holmes is leaving petrova’s dressing room and he’s like “it would have been… catastrophe” also there’s this line near the beginning that is the best echolalia thing because of how watson says it and it’s “why are you being so stubborn, holmes? why won’t you go?!” and the whole movie is also just kind of ridiculous. like that scene where they’re just bicycling to all the castles with bagpipe music in the background? priceless. i just really like this version of holmes (watson too but he’s just a tad too clueless imo)

those are like my main headcanons but i also really like asexual sherlock. I’m sure i have more somewhere??? idk probably small things like acd holmes and watson holding hands when they go on walks. i also have some that are like extensions of the ones you mentioned?? like TPLoSH watson being in love w/ holmes but having no idea how to deal with it and then the reason he gets so mad when holmes implies they’re a couple is because THEY’RE NOT AND HE WANTS THEM TO BE

djskfkskfks to clarify I like all iterations of Sherlock Holmes including BBC sherlock (which is what my blog is mainly about) but sacd sherlock is absolutely one of my special interests. sherlock in general is a special interest !

YEAH SAME HERE!! the only iteration i’ve watched/read so far that i absolutely don’t like is the shane peacock book series. and that was before i was into SH stuff anyway so i’m gonna have to read it again to make sure. i wish there was more of a fandom on tumblr for the sacd canon :/ i’ve been amusing myself by reading essays/analyses on other websites but it’s not quite the same
