oh!! kartoffelrækkerne is a neighborhood in copenhagen that was originally built in like the late 1800's by a workers society(?) to provide better housing for factory workers. the name means "potato rows" because they were arranged like rows of potatoes on a field and because they were built way outside the city on farm land (back then, now they're very central lol). i'm not sure exactly when but sometime from the 1970's on the value of the houses skyrocketed (due to their central location, near the lakes and their history)

re: my thought on john moving there but moving away quickly is more down to them all being terraced houses and i don't think he would enjoy the lack of privacy LOL
