October 25, 2025 will mark an extraordinary cultural moment in Southern Utah as Kayenta Arts presents Crossing Open Ground at Snow Canyon State Park, produced by Liquid Music. This one-day-only performance combines the artistry of Pulitzer Prize- and Grammy Award-winning composer John Luther Adams with the participation of 36 local musicians from Utah Tech University, set in the dramatic natural amphitheater of Snow Canyon.

The immersive acoustic score — composed for winds, brass, and percussion — has only been performed twice before: at Lincoln Center in New York City and at the Aspen Music Festival and School...."

I got to dive back in to some John Luther Adams, talking a bit about and playing the first movement of The Mathematics of Resonant Bodies today as part of The Space Between conference at McMaster University’s MAPLE Lab.
