#DreamRoleAMonthChallenge #ArsenicAndOldLace Nearly missed November with this; so, while technically I should probably save this for next October, it's the first thing I thought of when I remembered the (self) challenge. To compensate for my tardiness, the number of roles is increased from even my previous "two-fer" cheats. It should come as no surprise to anyone following me that this is a favorite film of mine. I've never gotten to see the actual stage play, but that's likely an advantage for my ideas on the production. 1) as for a theatrical staging, there are a few friends that I would love to have work with me in this & my hope would be to tackle it in the same way that the #JohnnyLeeMiller / #BenedictCumberbatch production of #Frankenstein was handled, where they alternated the roles of Dr Frankenstein and the creature. In this case, I'd like four of us to rotate between the roles of the three Brewster cousins, Mortimer, Teddy & Jonathan, and Dr. Einstein. 2) Although there is quite a bit of physical comedy involved, I wouldn't be deterred from attempting to adapt this as an audio play...in this case, solo. I mean, if one of the male stars* of the original stage version could end up playing a female role on tv, I don't see why I couldn't play a couple of female roles in audio. TBH, considering that I have actually only ever been in one, single staged reading...since college 😏... I do feel a little...
