I know you reblogged that long post about how jack is gay and not bi. But what are your thoughts on bisexual jack. On that note what do you think about Neurodivergent jack?
Although we are given no clear textual evidence of Jack's sexuality (hence the 'Schroedinger's bisexual' meme) I do headcanon him to be bisexual, purely for representation reasons. Similarly to how many people view him as half-Jewish for representation reasons, I am happy to work with any scrap I am given by canon. Because really, there are only scraps. Personally, I am really intrigued by the Jack/Camilla relationship that we never see a lot of, because it is rife with potential for exploration. Are they really dating or is it just a rumor Jack runs with to get out of having to discuss his sexuality with others? If they are dating, which I think would make for an interesting dynamic given they are both driven athletes in a competitive environment, is it because Jack is unconsciously trying to replace Kent Parson? When Jack names all the people he has been with to Bitty, does he really mean that he has dated all those people or is he just listing off names to obfuscate Kent Parson from sticking out (which fails and leads to one of the most interesting moments in the comic, in my opinion)? It opens up a lot of possibilities, so I do enjoy a reading of Jack that views him as bisexual or at the very least deeply stuck in compulsive heteronormative structures.
As for neurodivergent Jack, I think there is a strong case to be made for many different interpretations. I know that Jack being on the Autism spectrum is a popular headcanon, and I can certainly see that reading. I am in support of anything that brings more diversity to the canon, as long as it is handled with empathy and care. I dislike readings of him as neurodivergent that try to deny his humanity (often these go hand-in-hand with focus on his abuse of Bitty and Parse, which is important to examine, but often turns into moralistic/deterministic wholesome-or-problematic binarism in which neurodivergent people come out on top as "inherently evil").
I apologize for this getting kind of long. I hope it answers your questions, though!
